South River Youth Athletics is a non-profit organization administered by a volunteer board representing the South River Community at large, whose mission is to: promote, encourage, direct and operate athletic programs for the children and youth of the South River area, Anne Arundel County, Maryland. The association shall also strive to promote ideals of good citizenship as well as good sportsmanship through its athletic programs and activities, and for the benefit of the community.

  SRYA has teamed with the Edgewater Sports Clips. Now through June 1st print out and bring in the money saving coupon on any service you receive at Sports Clips. It is a win-win here, you save money and Sports Clips will donate a portion of the proceeds each time you use the coupon. Feel free to share with your friends and family. • Battle for Brats - Sunday, May 20th at the Old Stein Inn
  Do you have what it takes to be crowned The Old Stein “Wurstanator”? As The Old Stein has risen like a Phoenix from the ashes, we want to give back to the community which supported us in our time of need. On Sunday, May 20th The Old Stein will host its first ever “Battle of The Brats” benefiting South River Youth Athletics (SRYA). We are looking for 12 contestants who think they can be the first to eat 40 Nürnberger’s “mini Bratwurst” (or who has eaten the most in a 10 minute time period). The winner will be adorned with “The Wurstanator” crown and be a heaped with praise and glory. Contestants will need to raise $250 entrance fee from family/friends/co-workers which will all go to SRYA (South River Youth Athletics). Each contestant will receive a “Phoenix Rising” BeerStein and T-shirt. Special additional prizes will be given out to the person who raises the most money over the $250 entrance fee. If you are interested in being crowned “Wurstanator” please email a short paragraph to oldstein@verizon.net why you should be chosen to compete (it helps that you want to raise money for the kids). Please include your name and contact information. The contest will be held in our side lot (with Beer truck and German band) so all you friends and family can come help cheer you on!!! Equipment Swap

South River Youth Athletics hosts Sporting Equipment Swaps throughout the year. We collect gently used CLEATS, PADS, LACROSSE STICKS, BASEBALL/SOFTBALL GLOVES, SOCCER SHIN GUARDS, ATHLETIC CLOTHING & BALLS (etc.) from the various sports that our children play and put them to good use in our community. This is a great opportunity to donate, swap or receive what your child may need. Many times, our children outgrow equipment before it gets much use at all. This equipment can be used to meet a need of another family in our community. If you have items that you would like to donate or swap please contact Hilary Bunting.
