SRYA Cheerleading
Welcome to SRYA Cheerleading's youth-recreational program!
Our Fall season begins in August and runs through November-December, extending through football playoffs and championships.
DEFINITION OF A CHEERLEADER:
Cheerleaders are athletes.
The SRYA Cheer program is designed as an introductory recreational program. We believe every child who wants to be a cheerleader should have the opportunity to participate!
- No tryouts required
- No prior experience necessary
- All skill levels welcome
We work hard, take pride in our routines, and most importantly — we have FUN!
PROGRAM OPTIONS:
Sideline Cheer (Ages 3–8)
- Cheer at tackle football games (usually on Saturday's)
- Learn chants, jumps, basic tumbling, and beginner stunts

Learn a short routine to perform at Pep Rally and during halftime at games
Cost: $160
Sideline / Competition (Ages 6–14)
- Cheer at tackle football games (usually on Saturday's)
- Learn chants, jumps, basic tumbling, and stunts

Learn a routine to perform at Pep Rally, during halftime at games and at competitions
- Participation in 2 competitions possibly more with AAYCA.
Competition Eligibility:
Cheerleaders must be 6 years old by August 31.
Cost: $250
REGISTRATION INFORMATION:
Registration is open to children ages 3–14.
More details on registration deadlines and payment information will be announced soon.
SEASON INFORMATION:
- Practices begin the first week of August outside for ALL cheerleaders.

Mandatory Parents meeting will be held 1st Wednesday of August.
- Full practice/event schedules will be passed out at the beginning of the season.
Required Forms
Emergency contact forms and waivers must be completed before your child may practice.
CLINICS & CAMPS:
We are revamping our clinics this season!
We are planning to host a cheer camp on either:
- A Friday evening, or
- A Saturday morning
Camp will focus on learning motions, cheers, and foundational skills.
PRACTICE LOCATIONS:
- Practices are typically held twice per week outside Edgewater Elementary.
- Once school begins, practices are usually held indoors at Edgewater Elementary and Central Elementary.
Please note: Indoor practice space is not guaranteed until school begins and permits are approved.
VOLUNTEER COACHES NEEDED!
Coaches are essential to keeping this program running!
