Winter Competition Evaluations -
There will be a mandatory evaluation night for ALL NEW Competition cheerleaders that did not compete during the fall 2011 season on Wednesday, November 2, 2011 from 6:30-8:30pm. Location – Central Elementary School Cafeteria. Competition is very competitive and we want to place your child on the team that is right for him/her. To make sure everyone has the best experience possible, we will place each cheerleader on a squad depending on their age, skills, and maturity level. Please expect that all squads will have girls of various ages. If your child is not present during evaluation night, he/she will not be placed on a team unless other arrangements are made in advance.
SQUAD PRACTICES: The first official practice with your assigned squad will be on Monday, November 7, 2011 from 6:30pm-8:30pm. Location –EDGEWATER Elementary School Cafeteria. There will be a mandatory parents meeting from 6:30-7:00pm - all parents must be present at this meeting.
Practice and Competitions -
Competition practices will be held 3 days a week, for 2 hours each practice. All Coaches reserve the right to reduce or extend practice hours and number of days, if deemed necessary. We may also hold periodic Saturday practices, if needed. On Friday’s, we practice at a cheer gym to become familiar with the flooring used during competitions.
Although we will try and keep the practice schedule the same throughout the season, but there may be times when it will change due to school closings and school events that require us to practice on a different day.
No practice- Thanksgiving break (11/21 – 11/25) and Christmas break (12/23/2011 - 01/02/2012).
It is extremely important that each cheerleader attends every practice on time! Being prompt is vital to ensure that everyone is properly stretched and warmed up to prevent and minimize injuries. All cheerleaders need to wear proper gym/cheer shoes and apparel. Your child must also bring a bottle of water to every practice, game, and competition. Due to safety concerns, please make sure all jewelry is removed. There will be NO exceptions to this policy.
