Registration is open for 2010 Fall Cheerleading at SRYA Registration
The purpose of cheering is to promote spirit, develop teamwork, sportsmanship and provide a safe environment in which cheerleaders can learn, grow and have fun. As with other sports, cheering requires both time and commitment.
Coaches are needed. If you are interested in coaching a squad, please contact Jennifer Toro at cheerleading@srya.org
South River Youth Athletics Seahawks Sideline Cheerleading is for children between the ages of 5-14. Competition cheer squads are for children that are between the ages of 7 - 14.
Cheerleading Practices:
Cheerleading practices start on Monday, August 2nd from 6:00p.m. - 8:00p.m. at Edgewater Park.
It is extremely important that every cheerleader comes to every practice on time. Being prompt is vital to ensure that everyone is properly stretched and warmed up. All cheerleaders need to wear proper shoes and bring a bottle of water to every practice, game and competition. Due to safety concerns, there will be no jewelry allowed. There will be no exception to this policy.
Registration Fees:
Sideline Cheerleading costs $100.00 Competition Cheerleading costs $125.00
Registration Closes the last week of August.
Uniform Expenses:
- Uniform Deposit $150.00
- Cheer Shoes $30.00 (estimate)
- Crop Top $13.00
- Spankies $13.00
- Hair Bows $12.00
Squads:
Squads will be assigned at the close of registration. Although age is a factor, it is not determinative. Please expect that all squads will have girls of various ages.
- 5-8 (must be five by 9/1/2010)
- 8-10 (must be 8 by 9/1/2010)
- 10-12 (must be 10 by 9/1/2010)
- 12-14 (must be 12 by 9/1/2010)
Uniform Fitting: (TBD)
Uniform distribution will be held sometime in August. The date and times have to be determined but you will be contacted well in advance. All cheerleaders must be present for uniform fitting.

Fundraising:
In order to keep costs as low as possible within the organization fundraising is necessary. The money raised by fundraising will directly impactt the cheerleading organization. This money will help defer the costs of uniforms, trophies, fees and other costs necessary to run the program.
