SRYA 2011 FALL FOOTBALL:
SRYA football registration is now open.
The registration fee is $165.00 with an equipment deposit of $150.00. Based on the confusion and budgeting issues early bird registration fees present, we have decided to eliminate
this as an option but have lowered the registration $10 for all. Registration will close on July 17th. The first practice will be held on July 18th. The
week of the July 18th, will be used for conditioning, evaluations and general housekeeping. July 25th will begin the official football practice schedule with full equipment.
All children must be paid in full prior to practicing. I strongly encourage registering online and paying with PayPal through http://www.srya.org. We will offer a
few dates where registration and payments can be made in person but I would like to see us move toward a more automated system.Over the past few weeks and months, Anne Arundel County Recreations and Parks, football commissioners and Anne Arundel Football Youth Association (AAYFA) have met and have changed a few things:
1. Previously, "unlimited" teams usually do not have a "play rule" but effective immediately, the "unlimited" teams now have a five play minimum rule.
2. Update to rules...based on the June 20th meeting, SRYA will remain Division 2 from 70-13U. The weighted/unlimited rule will be in place next year.
3. Previously, 13U could not have any child playing that would turn 14 years old prior to September 1st. Effective immediately, 14 year olds can now play 13U as long as they do not turn 15 years old during the calendar year. In addition to this rule change, 13U will be no longer be called 13U. The name is to be determined.

South River Youth Athletics (SRYA) Seahawks Football has teams for players starting from age 6 (under 70lb.) and up to age 14 (HS Freshman/Sophomore). SRYA Seahawk's home field is at Edgewater Park. The fee for football is $165.00 plus a deposit for uniforms and equipment.
