SRYA Boys Lacrosse 2012 Spring Season

South River Youth Athletics (SRYA) Lacrosse hosts teams for players from ages 5 through 15.

SRYA offers teams for:
Scooper (U7)
Clinic (U9)
PeeWee (U11)
Midget (U13)
Junior (U15)

South River Youth Athletics Lacrosse has homefields at Edgewater Park, Loch Haven Park and South River High School. The registration fee for boys lacrosse for the 2012 season is $135 for county and $125 for scoopers. There is also a $70 uniform fee for all Clinic, Pee Wee, Midget and Junior players (scoopers do not pay the uniform fee). The uniform includes a personalized game jersey, game shorts, personalized shootingshirt (to be worn under the game jersey) and a practice jersey. Sizing samples will be made available at the annual pre-season equipment meeting which will be held in February. Evaluations for Junior, Midget and Pee Wee teams will be conducted on the turf field at South River High School in late February. Dates and times will be posted at a later time.

This seaon, South River Youth Athletics is offering a shooting clinic on March 11, 2012 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Edgewater Park. This clinic is free when your registration is paid in full by Feb 19th. The clinic will be operated by Andrew "Buggs" Combs from Warrior Lacrosse. Combs was an All-American attackman at the University of Maryland and an MLL All-Star. There will be other players and MLL coaches on hand to assist with the clinic. We will also have Warrior and Brine prizes and giveaways.

Scoopers	9/1/2004 through 8/30/2006 (must be 5 yrs old by April 1, 2012)
Clinic	9/1/2002 through 8/30/2004
Pee Wee	9/1/2000 through 8/30/2002
Midgets	9/1/1998 through 8/30/2000
Juniors	9/1/1996 through 8/30/1998

Age requirements are enforced by Anne Arundel County Recreation and Parks. Players may not play down a level. A player can only go up one level with the approval from the SRYA Lacrosse Commissioner.

Equipment hand-out and parent/player meeting: Sunday February 12th at Londontown Hall

• 2:30-3:30 Pee Wee (Meeting at 3:15)
• 3:30-4:30 Juniors (Meeting at 4:15)

SRYA adheres to Anne Arundel County rules and focuses on promoting fair play, good sportsmanship, fundamental skills and play development. As mandated by the county, all players will have the opportunity to enjoy at least 25% playing time per game. Between the weekly practices and the games, players will have plenty of opportunity to learn more about this fast-moving sport.
